Day 1 minute 1. last minute stuffing of everything. We parked at "La Brussole off of route 299. For a point of reference look at this link: http://www.sepaq.com/Fr/Pdf/GASCarte_hiver_fr_2003.pdf. our starting point was pretty much dead centre on the map.
Greg Hughes, Kevin Marks, Ian Dennis... in that order
slight disrobing at the 1/5 up the hill mark. the temps were cool but consistent 10% grades with packs on can warm up a body.
The big boulder was nearly at the top of the 5k climb. Rewarding views all around was a nice bonus.
The top most point of day 1. now only 2k of gentle down to Pluvier, our first cabin of 5.
The everpresent Grey Jays. these guys were fantastic entertainment at most of the huts we stayed at.
The Front of Pluvier hut.
The wood stoves were kept at maximum warp for most of the waking hours, and the dance of the water drops was pretty amusing.
Ian on the ice trail on day 2. Pluvier off in the background.
it took ian a while to get his downhill ski legs under him..this was before that :-)
